WEB 2.0 ON THE GO!
REFLECTION
I totally
haven’t heard about Web 2.0 before. It actually caught my attention when I saw
this as a task to do. As I start digging out details about this, I find this very
interesting. Web 2.0 tools help people create, edit, participate and share
informational contents online. Web 2.0 also serves as an open communicator. Teachers
consider this very beneficial in a way of tackling lessons in another dimension
by browsing other websites that can broaden their discussions. Several tools
are free which bring convenience to discover applications that can be used in
teaching such as document tools, media tools, presentation tools, community
tools, and a lot more to mention. However, enough care must be applied while
using these tools to prevent malwares invading our computer’s system. Pop-ups
may still be present that are prone to viruses and scam. We just have to choose
the right tools that are efficient for us to use.

THE POWER AND PERIL OF WEB 3.0
Reflection
As many people are still on the grip to know
about Web 2.0, others are already thinking ahead what Web 3.0 would be like. In
this article, Web 3.0 is also called as the Semantic Web. The goal states that
users should spend less time looking for information and more time using and
participating with what they find. As indicated in other words, less slogging,
more blogging. Leap 1 is considered to be simple as it uses intelligent tagging.
The hypertext markup language (HTML) plays a very significant role here. In order
to decode the source, computer-programming skills insert here. Meanwhile, leap
3 yields to complexity as it uses shared ontologies and databases. Based from
the text, it’s not just sharing tags, but whole ontologies. This already involves
several parties that make it more complicated. Web 3.0 in a deeper thought,
simplifies the task of hackers. It also leads to less anonymity.
The goal of
Web 3.0 in the aspect of education is to lessen time spent in searching for
information since we are now in a digital universe where technology is just one
snap away. Students don’t have to pile their cabinets with printed literacies
since not all of them are semantically synced into the web.
