Building a Classroom Community with Class Dojo ๐
(I created a Class Dojo virtual room on Google Slides. Check this link to make a copy of your own for FREE!)
Are you looking for an educational platform that promotes communication, engagement, and socio-emotional learning all in one place?
Well, Class Dojo has it all! It is 100% FREE for teachers and schools!
Since teaching as a classroom teacher, I have been using Class Dojo, which brings families, teachers, and our whole community together. It is a secure place to share photos and videos and school-wide events. It has a private feed to share photos, video lessons, and files with students and families. Students can take ownership of their work with customized learning and feedback skills. They can use this platform as a digital portfolio with journal, drawing, photo, and video features.
It fosters effective communication with families to stay deeply connected to the classroom and school. Moreover, language is never a barrier; its automatic translation feature makes it easier for diverse families to stay connected.
Class Dojo also offers FREE resources such as a classroom decoration kit and ready-made Social-Emotional content. Teachers can teach social-emotional concepts through videos, discussion guides, and meaningful follow-up activities. We can provide positive and customizable feedback and choose how to share this data with families. Its powerful toolkit includes a timer, random picker, group maker, noise meter, directions, think-pair-share, and music. It can also help us keep track of student attendance and tardies. Teachers can upload and assign digital worksheets to one student, specific students, or the entire class.
Class Dojo Island is its newest feature that promotes a safe digital playground for your class. Students can customize their monsters, play games, and build together. Each island is class-specific, so students can only play with their classmates. It has limited, pre-programmed chats, which keep interactions positive. Teachers can create challenges and activities in the building zone for students to accomplish together.

You have always been so amazing Ms. Maria! Thank you for sharing what Class Dojo has to offer. This post is perfect, not only for new teachers but even experienced teachers. Class Dojo is constantly updating and finding new ways to engage students. I love the addition of Dojo Islands and the challenges it offers along the way.
